Strategic Dialogue at a Critical Time

Amid escalating tensions following India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), this high-level seminar will critically assess Pakistan’s strategic, legal, and diplomatic options.

Bringing together experts in hydrology, international law, environmental science, and regional geopolitics, the seminar will explore:

🔹 The implications of the IWT suspension on Pakistan’s water security
🔹 Scientific realities of Indus River hydrology and regional geography
🔹 Diplomatic and adaptive responses rooted in evidence and resilience

Key Message

Despite political rhetoric, the science is clear: India cannot simply “turn off” Pakistan’s water. The Indus River’s flow is sustained by a vast, complex system of tributaries and glacier melts—far beyond the reach of any single actor. Dam-building in the unstable, high-altitude upper Indus is neither feasible nor sustainable.

Pakistan must counter fear with facts—and assert its rights as a lower riparian state through international legal mechanisms and coordinated diplomacy.
