COMSTECH Research Grants Programme for Yuong Women Researchers

COMSTECH, the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is pleased to announce the launch of its Research Grants Programme for Young Women Researchers. This initiative is dedicated to supporting young women scientists engaged in indigenous research within OIC Member States. The programme aims to promote scientific excellence, strengthen research capacity, and help curb the brain-drain of talented researchers from the region.

Key Features:

  • Grants are awarded to early-career women scientists working in OIC countries.
  • Each grant under this program amounts to USD 5,000- 7000, aimed at supporting individual research projects led by women researchers.
  • Funding is provided for a one-year duration.
  • A total of 15-20 grants will be awarded.
  • Grants may be used for purchasing scientific minor equipment, consumables, and specialized literature.

Eligible Research Areas:
Applied Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, and other science and technology disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:

  • Be nationals of OIC Member States.
  • Be enrolled in a PhD program or be at the early stages of their research career.
  • Be under 45 years of age.
