OIC-COMSTECH, IOFS and WDO to Strengthen Women’s Skills in Agricultural Product

OIC-COMSTECH, in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), the Women Development Organization (WDO), the Songhai Centre, organize a practical capacity-building workshop for women engaged in the processing of agricultural products and forest fruits in Benin.
The workshop will bring together approximately 25 participants, with a particular focus on rural women.
The training workshop will provide practical skills in the processing, preservation and value addition of locally available agricultural products, with a focus on gari, palm oil and soy cheese. Participants will also be introduced to opportunities for improving processing practices, product quality, entrepreneurship and income generation.
The initiative aims to contribute to women’s economic empowerment, improved livelihoods and food security by strengthening practical skills and supporting greater participation of women in local agricultural value chains.
The workshop seeks to promote practical knowledge transfer, and sustainable approaches that can continue to benefit participating women, and their communities.
