Introduction to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI)

The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) serves as the premier representative body for the city’s dynamic business community and plays a fundamental role in the region’s economic prosperity. For the COMSTECH-USKT-SCCI Industrial Internship Program, SCCI provides an invaluable network of member firms, ensuring that interns gain access to high-tech manufacturing units and export-oriented enterprises. Their involvement guarantees that the program is aligned with global industrial standards and offers students a direct pathway into the heart of Pakistan’s most successful industrial hub.

Introduction to OIC-COMSTECH:

OIC-COMSTECH, the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation), was established by the Third Islamic Summit of OIC held at Makkah, Saudi Arabia, in January 1981. The President of Pakistan is the Chairman of COMSTECH. The core mandate of COMSTECH is to strengthen cooperation among OIC Member and Observer States in science, technology and Innovation (STI). Through the COMSTECH-USKT-SCCI Industrial Internship Program, OIC-COMSTECH aims to invite students and young professionals from across the OIC Member and Observer States to experience Sialkot’s world-class industrial sectors. This initiative aims to transform the city into a global hub for technical talent, fostering an environment where international participants can exchange scientific knowledge, professional expertise, and diverse cultural perspectives.

Importance of Industrial Internship Program for Fresh Graduates from OIC Member States:

The COMSTECH-USKT-SCCI Industrial Internship Program aims to provide fresh graduates with practical exposure to industrial operations. This initiative is crucial for bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial practices. By participating in this program, graduates will gain valuable insights into the workings of various industries, enhancing their employability and preparing them for successful careers in their respective fields. The internships provided under this program will be for a maximum duration of 4 weeks and the minimum criteria is graduation in relevant field of internship.

Modalities of the Program:

  • The internship will be for a maximum duration of 4 weeks
  • The minimum criteria for selection is graduation in relevant field of internship.
  • The Candidates must complete the application form, along with submitting a CV and letter of interest.
  • Selected Internees will be provided economy class air travel and local hospitality by the organizers.
