The theme of this year’s WSPD was “Science – A Human right”. This theme was selected to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art. 27), Article 1 of which says, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” .

Dr. Qasim Jan elaborated on various aspects of science and technology that are increasingly involved in protection, and access of some key human rights, such as freedom of expression, education, food security and health.
