Organization of the Islamic Conference Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), in collaboration with International Foundation for Science (IFS) supports research projects of importance to meeting the development needs of the OIC member states. US$ 2.09 million, so far, have been spent to support two hundred research projects from twenty-eight OIC member states.

Under COMSTECH-IFS Joint Research Grants Program small research grants, up to a maximum amount of US$ 12,000 each, are awarded on a competitive basis the promising scientists under the age of forty years in six research areas namely aquatic resources, animal production, crop science, forestry/agro forestry, food science and natural products.
